Shooting Knee Pain Should not Be Ignored After an intense workout or a long day on your feet at work, it’s not unusual to have some leg fatigue or soreness. However, the throbbing ache of being on one’s feet for too long is not the same as having sharp, shooting knee pain. Shooting knee pain can be a signal that something is seriously wrong in your knee joints. A doctor can do some scans to see if you have torn ligaments. The pain could be caused by a loss of cartilage, torn or sprained ligaments, or a cyst--all things that can be seen from an MRI or CAT scan. Shooting knee pain shouldn’t be ignored. Ignoring it can lead to intensified pain in the future.
